30.06.05 – The Congolese community in Galway gathered in solidarity to protest the economic exploitation by foreign investors and ineffective leadership in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Protesters demanded that the Irish government should lobby through the EU and UN to put pressure on Kabila’s (2003) Transitional government to immediately resign and to allow the national conference to execute transparent elections.

This protest took place on Shop Street, Co. Galway.
