Women’s Rights and Anti Deportation Demonstration March from Dáil to Minister of Justice, 2005.

14.07.2005 – Black women seeking Asylum march from the Dáil to the Minister of Justice. This protest was organised by women asylum seekers in opposition to deportations granted by the Department of Justice and Minster of Justice Micheal McDowell of women and girl children facing reproductive abuses such as Female Genital Mutilation and other gender based violence.

These still images show a group of women and girls marching to Dàil Èireann carrying placards saying ‘Deportation Means Mutilation for Women’ and ‘Let Them Stay, Let Them Work’.
